AN INTRODUCTION OF : Jhapa Prabidhik Shikshyalaya Pvt. Ltd (JPS)
JPS is registered under company act and recognized by CTEVT to conduct the vocational skill training with a standard training curriculum. In 2062 BS, it has established its head office in Birtamode 1, of Jhapa District. It has established its contact offices in the different geographical location of Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Ilam, Panchthar, Terhathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Taplejung, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Saptari, Sankhuwasabha, Udayapur, Kathamandu and Bhaktapur districts. It has two building with three storied with 15 rooms at its office.
The major objectives of JPS are to assess and update labour market information; to explore feasibility of new trade of training; to impart training to the unemployed youths as per local and global market demand; and to support the trainees for placement i.e. wage employment and creation of self employment. Up to now, it has been working in thirteen districts of eastern development region and two district of central development region but it aims to work all over eastern part of Nepal. It has been delivering its services to its targeted population from grassroots to district level for their upliftment through market oriented skills training. Besides this, it has been providing social services through various lobby, advocacy, awareness/sensitization and training programs on the issue of women’s human rights.
JPS assesses the demands of the local and global labour market and disseminate information regarding the market needs. The youths who are in search of vocational skill development for employment come in touch with JPS and they are enrolled in trades of their choices. Besides this, JPS also works through local partners i.e. NGOs, DCCs, Rural Municipalities, Municipalities, INGOs, and government line agencies. Up to now, JPS has collaborated with Employment Fund Secretariat/Helvetas Swiss Interco-operation Nepal, Enhanced Vocational Education and Training (EVENT) Project, Care Nepal/CSP, GIZ, Lutheran World Federation, Nepal Red Cross Society, LCDC, IRC Nepal, Multi Skill, The Asia Foundation, RUD Nepal, Sahara Nepal/RMDC in conducting skill development training in various trades in different geographical location of the country. Similarly, JPS had organized vocational skill training program in joint venture with Nepal Janauddhar Association (NJA) in Panchthar district. In addition to this, it has also successfully conducted training and employment program provided by F Skill as a sub contractor of Global Alliance training and consultancy centre, Kathmandu.
According to the record of JPS, it has provided vocational skill development training more than 15,000 trainees in more than 40 trades of training till date. Out of total trained, 40% trainees are engaged in self employment, 30% are working in abroad and 20% are employed in wage market. The institute has followed the standard curriculum of CTEVT or department of labour. It has also added some courses of contents taking into consideration the interest of the clients and demand of market after interaction with clients. Besides this, JPS also conduct session on entrepreneurship development and market management training. It has also incorporated some course contents with the interest of clients and demand of market.
